Professional Roof Repairs in Ranelagh

For a leak in Ranelagh, call with the address and whether the problem is at a chimney, valley or rear extension. Terrace access and shared stacks may need planning. We confirm availability and discuss safe temporary protection before arranging the repair.

Yes — failed bay-window aprons are one of the more common Ranelagh leaks, especially on Sandford Road and Charleston Road terraces. The original lead apron over the bay parapet has fatigued, joints split, and water tracks back behind into the front room ceiling or the bay itself. We strip the apron, repair the timber underneath where needed and re-lay in code 4/5 lead with proper welts and falls.

Cullenswood and the north side of Sandford Road have larger detached and semi-detached period homes with dormer pitches, complex parapets and lead valleys. On these we see dormer pitch leaks where the original felt under the slate has gone, and lead valleys with pinholes in the lower run. We strip and re-lay rather than patching pinholes.

Yes. Parts of Ranelagh fall under Architectural Conservation Area designations. We specify natural Welsh or Bangor slate hand-cut to the original size, lime-compatible mortar, code 4/5 lead and original-profile ridge tiles. Materials are listed by grade on the written quote so it's clear what's going on the roof.

Yes. A high share of Ranelagh period houses are now multi-unit apartments, and the rear-return flat roofs over kitchen extensions are a recurring leak point at the upstand to the main rear wall. We refurbish single-ply, EPDM and torch-on systems, replace failed upstand details and coordinate access with management companies for multi-unit blocks.
